Grilla Box - Self Cleaning Mouthguard Container

When you use a mouthguard often, it’s going to get dirty. And let’s be honest, how often do you clean it? Its also embarrassing because your training partner has to smell your breath caused by a disgusting mouthguard! Same deal with night guards. It’s easy to forget to clean your mouthguard and so many cases won’t even stay shut. 

This self cleaning container is antimicrobial and BPA free to ensure the safest and cleanest mouthguard.

Founder, Mike Santoro is a lifelong martial arts athlete. Training and competing in wrestling, Boxing, Kickboxing, Shidokan, Muay Thai and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, he’s used mouthguards since the second grade. He realized that we need to fight to keep our mouths healthy as hard as we fight on the mat.

Even with the best intentions, few people follow a regular cleaning process. A study from Tufts University reported more than half (55.7%) of athletes who use a mouthguard never clean it. While 1 in 100 (1%) reports always cleaning their mouthguard.

Frustrated with how much time it takes, and seeing how few people clean their mouthguard, Mike wanted a solution. A heightened focus on sanitization with the Covid-19 pandemic accelerated this search. He also created alcohol free “Grilla Juice” which is the liquid solution that cleans the mouthguard. No artificial ingredients and no chemical preservatives that you would find in over-the-counter mouthwash.  

Unfortunately, there were limited solutions. Most often, a plastic container (that pops open too easily), or a resealable bag is the furthest people go.

Working with engineers, Mike realized he could create a simple solution. By adding built-in sanitization to your mouthguard case, you can’t forget it, or blow it off.

In today’s hyper-busy world for athletes of all ages, few have the time to commit to a mouthguard cleaning routine.
